Club Rules

(As Amended through June 2015)

Private Parties

1.              The Louisville Country Club is a private social club. Its facilities and services are available only to the members and their bona fide guests.

2.              All parties must be social in nature. Any party which will result in media coverage (other than social in nature) will not be allowed.

3.              Any event where the hosting member is not in attendance or any party where the hostÕs name does not appear on the invitation will not be allowed.

4.              The use of the Club for commercial or business purposes is not allowed, and, therefore, the use of the Club for a sales presentation, solicitation of donations or for any other similar business purpose is prohibited.

5.              All functions are to be by private invitation only. No blanket invitations, public invitations or commercial publicity will be allowed.

6.              Under no circumstances will the Club serve alcoholic beverages to persons under the age of 21 or to persons who are or appear to be intoxicated. No member or guest shall be allowed to purchase or otherwise furnish alcohol to a minor for consumption. The Club staff has the right and authority to refuse alcoholic service to any member or guest whom they suspect to be intoxicated.

7.              The Club reserves the right to require additional security for any party at its discretion but at party sponsorÕs expense.

8.              The Club reserves the right to reserve specific parking areas for Club members during a social event. Parking attendants at party functions can be obtained either by the party sponsor or the Club. In either case, the party sponsor will be responsible for the expense.

9.              All persons attending any social event must abide by the dress code as outlined in the Club Rules. (Club House and Grounds #2)

10.           Any damage to Club property will be the sole responsibility of the hosting member.

11.           The Club will not be responsible for articles left on the premises.

12.           When reserving a date for a private party the hosting member is given first right of refusal for that date. Once the date is confirmed due to a request from another member for that date, the cancellation fee will be as follows:

$250 for events scheduled for less than 50 people

$500 for events scheduled for 51-100 people

$1,000 for events scheduled for more than 100 people.

Cancellation of a function when the date has not been confirmed due to a request by another member will be subject to a 72 hour cancellation deadline.

Should a cancellation occur and the same date, time and room be re-booked by another member, the cancellation charge will be waived.

Cancellation/no-shows within 72 hours of the event will be charged 50% of the anticipated cost/charges scheduled for the event.

Club House and Grounds

1. MONDAY CLOSING: The club house (except business office) is closed every Monday of the year and no service is available. The only exception is when a national holiday falls on Monday, in which case the Club facilities are open that day and closed the following day.  The Club may also be closed at other times at the discretion of the Board, with suitable notice to members.  Reduced opening days and operating hours may be implemented by the Board during unusually slow times.

2. ATTIRE:  The dress code is extremely important and was established by the Members to compliment the excellence in standards for which our Club is known. It is the responsibility of the member to ensure that family members and guests adhere to our dress code. Management reserves the right to define ÒinappropriateÓ attire.

Club House General: MenÕs shirts must be tucked into the waistbands at all times. Headwear is not permitted by men inside the club house. Hats/visors are acceptable for ladies in the Clubhouse. Gentlemen may not wear blue jeans when visiting the ClubÕs dining or golfing facilities. Ladies may wear dress denim where appropriate. Faded or torn garments are never permitted at the Club. Items including t-shirts, lycra/spandex, running shorts, cover-ups, swim wear, warm ups, tank tops, torn jeans and flip flops are not permitted on the second floor of the club house at any time. ÒBluetoothÓ earphones are not permitted.

Dining Rooms: Travis Grill and Ballroom Lunch- for gentlemen, slacks, shorts, collared shirts, turtlenecks/mock turtlenecks are permitted. For women, shorts, slacks, blouses and designer jeans.

The exception to this is Sunday lunch which requires formal attire which is defined as coat and tie for gentlemen and similar appropriate attire for Ladies.

Travis Grill and Ballroom Dinner: For gentlemen, dress slacks, long sleeve collared shirts, turtlenecks, mock turtlenecks and sweaters. Coat and tie are suggested but not required. For ladies, slacks, skirts, dresses, blouses or designer jeans are permitted.

Family Casual, Adult Grill and Front Patio: These areas are more casual. Casual sports attire is appropriate, shirts must be tucked in, jeans and shorts are permitted. No t-shirts, torn or ragged clothing, swimwear or headwear are permitted at any time.

Pool Patio: Requires shoes, shorts, shirt or cover-up. No dripping wet swimwear permitted.

Pool Snack Bar and Locker Room Hallways: No dripping wet swim suits. Shoes, shirt or cover-up required.

Note, to go to the front reception area and entrance lobby, ÒShoes, shirt and dry clothing required. No hats (for men) or wet swimwear permittedÓ.

3. CELL PHONES: Cell phone usage is restricted to the locker rooms, phone booths, parking lots and pool deck ONLY. Cell phones should ALWAYS be on silent/vibrate and only answered in permitted areas listed above. CELL PHONES ARE PROHIBITED ON THE GOLF COURSE, TENNIS COURTS AND ALL DINING ROOMS AND COMMON AREAS.

Enforcement is the responsibility of all members. Members are responsible for educating their guests on our policies. Disciplinary actions resulting from the abuse of this policy will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Board of Governors.

4. As required by the Metro Government ban of January 2008, smoking will not be permitted anywhere indoors. Smoking will be allowed on the outdoor patios and decks.

5. ARTICLES FOR SALE -- No facility or area of the Club may be used for the display or advertising of any articles for sale except for those offered by the Club or the Golf/ Tennis Professionals.

6. FOOD AND LIQUOR -- Members will not bring food or beverages on Club property at any time with the exception of specialty items approved by management in advance.

7. PETS --Members must keep their pets off Club property. Dog walking is not allowed on the golf course, Club roads or any Club property. The first offense is a written warning and the second offense is a $100.00 fine.

8. RECIPROCITY -- The Club has no reciprocity with other Clubs except under special circumstances approved in advance by the Board.

9. CHECK CASHING -- The limit for cashing memberÕs checks is $100.00 per member per week. No third party checks will be cashed.

10. CLUB PROPERTY – The cost of repair or replacement of any item of Club property broken or damaged must be paid for by the member responsible for the damage or hosting the guest who is responsible for the damage.

11. CLUB COMPLAINTS OR SUGGESTIONS -- Suggestions or complaints should be made in writing to the General Manager with a copy to the Club President.

12. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES -- Under no circumstances will the Club serve alcoholic beverages to persons under the age of 21 or to persons who are or appear to be intoxicated. No member or guest shall be allowed to purchase or otherwise furnish alcohol to a minor for consumption. The Club staff has the right and authority to refuse alcoholic service to any member or guest whom they suspect to be intoxicated.

13. LOCKER ROOMS -- No one under the age of sixteen will be allowed in the menÕs or womenÕs locker rooms unless accompanied by an adult.

The above are subject to the season and the weather and the opening/closing at the discretion of the Board of Governors and the General Manager.

15. COAT ROOMS -- Check rooms are provided on the first and second floors. The Club assumes no liability for the loss of valuables.

16. PERSONAL PROPERTY -- The Club will not be responsible for any articles left on the Club premises including personal property left in the locker rooms, pool area, golf course, tennis area or Club dining areas.

17. GUEST CARDS -- A member may obtain a 2-week guest card for each non-resident guest for the sum of one-half of the monthly dues payable by an Active Voting Member over 35. The guest card will entitle the guest to enjoy all facilities of the Club without further fee; provided however, that the holder of the card shall not have the privilege of bringing other guests to the Club other than immediate family members. The sponsoring member shall be responsible for the guestÕs charges and deportment.

18. KITCHEN -- Members are not allowed in the kitchen and other designated employee areas unless accompanied by management or staff.

19. PARKING -- Parking of vehicles is restricted to the marked spaces. Illegally parked cars are subject to fines. Parking along the road blocking #13, #14 and #17 fairways is prohibited and could result in vehicles being towed at the ownerÕs expense.

20. GRILL -- No person under 21 years of age is permitted in the Adult Grill.

21. SLEIGH RIDING -- Restricted to the club house side of #13 fairway when the grass is fully covered with snow. Sleigh riding is limited to members and their accompanied guests from 8am till 11pm. Children 13 and under must be chaperoned by a responsible parent/adult. Management has the discretion to limit sleigh riding when conditions may result in damage to the golf course or are dangerous for the participants.  Sleigh riding is prohibited in the area of #12 green and the pond between #12 and #13.

Golf

General

USGA Rules govern play, except where modified by local rules stated on the scorecard or posted in the Pro Shop.

Foursomes have the right of way on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays, except for finals of all championships.

Fivesomes or more are not permitted from April 1 to September 15.

Restrictions on Play

1.              Guests residing more than 70 miles from the club house of the Louisville Country Club and either holding a guest card or paying the applicable greens fee may play golf at any time. All guests, other than out-of-town guests holding a guest card, must be accompanied by a member.

2.              Guests residing within 70 miles of the club house of the Louisville Country Club may be introduced not more than twice in any calendar month. Such local guests may not be introduced on Saturdays or holidays before 1:00 pm. Local guests shall be accompanied by a member.

3.              All guests must register at the Pro Shop. Local guests and out-of-town guests not holding a guest card shall pay a greens fee of $60.00 for play on weekdays and $75.00 for play on weekends and holidays.

4.              On Saturdays and holidays, only members and spouses may begin play between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.

5.              Play by those under 16 is not permitted between the hours of 9:00 am and 12:00 noon on Saturdays and holidays.

6.              Children under 10 shall only play when accompanied by an adult member.

Golf Attire

Appropriate attire must be worn at all times. Blue jeans, cutoffs, athletic shorts, swimsuits, tennis shorts, sweat suits and jogging attire are inappropriate and not permitted. ÒT-shirtsÓ may only be worn by those under 16. Only soft-soled and golf shoes with ÒsoftÓ spikes are permitted.

Closing the Course

1.              The course is closed on Mondays.

2.              The course will be closed by the Greens Superintendent, the Golf Professional or the Chairman of the Greens Committee when the course conditions require.

3.              The Course may be closed to non-participants during tournaments.

Practice

The practice range will be open at the times designated by the Golf Professional. Practice shall not be permitted on the golf course at any time.

Lessons

Individual lessons may be taken Tuesday through Friday by arrangement with the Golf Professional or his assistant. Group golf classes will be offered for children.

Golf Cart Use

The following rules apply to the use of golf carts by members and their guests:

a)              Only persons having a valid driverÕs license may operate a golf cart on Club property.

b)              Only golf carts rented from the Club may be used while playing golf.

Use of Personal Golf Carts on Club Property

¥                LCC Members in good standing with the Club are permitted to utilize personal golf carts for transportation to and from the Club. Non-members and guests of Members are not permitted to utilize personal golf carts on Club property.

¥                LCC Members who wish to utilize their personal golf carts on Club property must register their cart by June 1 of each year and receive an annual registration sticker. A one-time trail fee of $10 per cart will be charged at the initial registration of a personal golf cart. During the annual registration, Members will be required to sign an Indemnification Agreement and agree abide by the following rules pertaining to the use of personal golf carts on Club property:

1.              Personal golf carts may not be utilized for playing golf or on any of the golf course practice facilities. Members who wish to utilize a cart for playing golf or practicing on the range or other practice facilities may rent one of the ClubÕs golf carts.

2.              Members who elect to travel through the golf course to access the Clubhouse or other Club facilities must utilize the concrete cart paths, and refrain from cutting across fairways or otherwise driving on the golf course turf.

3.              Golfers have the right of way on the golf course and all areas appurtenant thereto at all times and in all circumstances. Drivers of personal golf carts must safely yield to golfers at all times.

4.              Drivers of personal golf carts and all of their passengers on the cart assume full risk for being struck by a ball, club, or any other hazards of golf, such as lightning, etc.

 

5.              Persons who do not possess a full, unrestricted driverÕs license are prohibited from driving a personal (or Club owned) golf cart on Club property at any time.

 

6.              Members who utilize personal golf carts on Club property will not transport more persons than the cart was manufactured to seat. At no time shall anyone ever be permitted to stand on a moving cart.

 

7.              In the event that the Club designates specific parking areas for personal golf carts, Members shall park their personal golf carts in those areas only.

 

8.              Members who do not annually register their personal golf cart with the Club will not be permitted to utilize their own carts on Club property. Failure to abide by the rules pertaining to the use of personal golf carts may result in a fine or loss of Club privileges.

c)              A memberÕs privilege of operating a golf cart, whether owned or leased, may be revoked at any time if the member fails to abide by the regulations of the Club regarding golf cart use, if the member demonstrates disregard for the golf course in operating the golf cart, or if the golf cart is operated in an unsafe manner.

ChildrenÕs Play

                  The golf course, including the putting green, will not be used a playground at any time.

Tennis

1.              The Tennis Professional will have priority on Court 1 for scheduled lessons.

2.              All players, including guests, will sign up at the Pro Shop before taking a court. All players will be present and ready to play before signing up for a court. Playing time starts at the sign-up time and will not exceed 1.5 hours when other players are waiting.

3.              When all courts are in use, a waiting list will be maintained in the Pro Shop in addition to the court sign-up book. If a player whose name is next on the list is still awaiting partner(s) when a court becomes available, he forfeits the court to the next player on the list if the next group is ready to play.

4.              Prime time is defined as 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. weekdays. During prime time, players will relinquish their court when requested by players with higher priority.

5.              Except as provided in Paragraph 1 above, priorities will apply during prime time only and be as follows:

a)              Members and spouses over 21 on Courts 1 - 10; at least 2 members over 21 are required in a game to establish priority for that game.

b)              Members under 21.

6.              As provided in Paragraph 2 above, a guestÕs name will be included in sign-up and a charge slip, including the guestÕs name must be signed by the host member. The guest fee for Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays is $5.00 per guest per day, and for weekdays $3.00 per guest per day. Any guest residing within 70 miles of the club house of the Louisville Country Club may not be introduced more than twice in any month.

7.              During play, sportsmanlike conduct and decorous language are required. Consideration of play in progress on other courts is required while occupying and vacating a court.

8.              All players are required to wear regulation tennis shoes and appropriate tennis attire, including shirts.

9.              Courts may be closed daily for midday maintenance according to the maintenance schedule posted in the Pro Shop.

10.           Guests residing within 70 miles of the club house of the Louisville Country Club may be introduced not more than twice in any calendar month. Local guests shall be accompanied by a member.

11.           Courts may not be reserved in advance except for Club sanctioned events, such as:

a)              Club Championship matches;

b)              Invitationals

c)              Holiday round-robins;

d)              Inter-club matches;

e)              ChildrenÕs inter-club matches;

f)               Other such events as determined by the Tennis Committee.
