A consultative body to the pastor in deciding how to meet the needs of the parish as a whole.
Finance Council
Advises the pastor and Parish Council in matters of finance and in decisions involving the temporal goods of the parish and school.
Audit Committee:
Conducts a formal annual audit of parish and school financial records and internal controls.
Worship Committee
Dedicated to overseeing the implementation of prayerful and inspiring liturgical celebration. Oversees liturgical ministries. This committee consists of one representative from each of the following groups: Liturgical Ministries, Art & Environment, and Music Ministries. Meetings are monthly.
Liturgical Ministries
- Altar Server: Adult and children - grade 5 & beyond
- Eucharistic Minister: Must be confirmed
- Assist at Nursing Home Mass: 2nd Thursday of the month
- Lector:High school age/adult
- Hospitality / Usher
Art & Environment
- Art & Environment Committee: Help and plan an attractive and appropriately decorated worship space. Help decorate Church for various seasons, sewing, flower arrangers, etc.
- Church Cleaning: Periodically help with light cleaning of Church on Friday or Saturday. Heavier cleaning before Easter and Christmas.
- Church Linens: Launder church linens periodically.
Music Ministries
- Choir: Men and women high school age and up.
- Cantors: Leaders of song to assist the congregation.
- Musicians: Dedicated to providing support to the assembly in song...all instruments welcome!
Sacramental Ministries
- Baptism Preparation: Couples interested in training to become part of the Baptism Preparation team.
- Marriage Preparation: Married couples assist in preparation of engaged couples for marriage.
Committees

Administration Committee: Responsible for short and long range planning, maintenance, grounds clean-up and Athletics.
- Athletic Committee: Coordinates sports programs for parish and school youth.
- Coaches: Trains athletes in various sports.
- Fish Fry: An annual fund raiser which provides funding for athletic programs.
- Building and Grounds: Provides grounds and buildings clean-up in the spring and fall.
- Bereavement Committee: Assists parish families at the time of death of a loved one. Participates in Vigil at Funeral Home. Helps set up, make a dish and serve a meal after a funeral.
- Committee of Concern: Prepares and delivers a light meal to parishioners when Parish Office is notified of a need.
- Prayer Committee: Volunteers who join in the Ministry of praying for the special prayer requests of parishioners.
- Formation Committee: Strives to plan and provide faith, formation education and spiritual enrichment to help all parishioners to grow--from the cradle to the grave.
- Stewardship Committee:
Promotes Time/Talent/ Treasure as way of life.
- Social Concerns Committee: Strives to raise consciousness about social justice issues and strives to be actively involved in the civic, church and world arenas.
- Maryhurst Giving Tree: Provides over 150 teen girls with Christmas gifts.
- St. Vincent DePaul Society: Provides financial and basic home needs assistance to families in our area.
- Open Hands Ministry: Help serve lunch once per month at the Open Hands Kitchen.
- St. John's Day Center: Serves lunches several times a year and provides hats and gloves.
- Parish Life Committee:
Plans activities of the Parish.
Other Opportunities
- School Advisory Council: A consultative body to the principal in deciding how to meet the needs of the school as a whole.
- School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO): A fundraising organization which seeks to provide additional funding for school programs and activities like art and computer equipment not covered by ordinary operation revenues.
- LEO's on the GO: Activities planned for parishioners who are 50 and older.
- Hospitality/Receptions Volunteer: Assist in planning and formation of receptions, parish dinners and parish functions.
- Phone Ministry: To persons who live alone.
- Birthday/Anniversary Board: Posts birthdays and anniversaries once a month.
- Parish Bulletin: Help the Parish staff in stuffing bulletins, Newsletter or other mailing assistance.
- RCIA: Process for welcoming and initiating adults to full communion in the Catholic Church.
- Children's Liturgy of the Word: Form children (k-2nd grade) in a liturgical experience appropriate for their development level in a separate space during the Liturgy of the Word. Available at 10 AM mass.
- Easter Egg Hunt: Planned once a year following the 10 AM liturgy Easter Sunday.
- Vacation Bible School: A summer bible school experience for preschoolers through fifth graders. Adults are needed for teaching, crafts, games and bible story activities.
- Parish Picnic: Our Fall fundraiser held the second weekend in September.
- Babysitting: for parish events.
