COUNSELOR'S CORNER

Saint Leonard School is a Family Builders' school. Family Builders is a school / f amily collaboration initiative of the Archdiocese of Louisville committed to the academic, social, and emotional competence of children. It is the intent of the counseling office to provide a collabortive effort through involving parents, teachers, counselors, and other professionals, in providing optimal support for your child (ren).

The counseling office offers free individual, family, and group therapy to students and their families throughout the school year. Referrals are made through teachers and/or parents as needed. Parental permission is required for a child to be seen for counseling sessions. Per Archdiocesan policy, a child can be seen by the counselor for one session before gaining parental consent. Please refer to required forms regarding confidentiality and privacy statements.


The following services are provided by the St. Leonard counseling staff:

* Individual & Family therapy sessions
* Group therapy sessions – i.e.anger management, social skills, divorce, conflict resolution, positive peer relationships, etc.
* Classroom counseling and guidance (once monthly)
* Classroom observations
* Referrals for psychological testing
* Classroom programs- i.e. Good-Touch/Bad-Touch®, etc.
