Worship Committee

These members oversee all regular sub-committees. This group helps to set goals, direction, and standards that are liturgically corrected. They assist in training for various liturgical roles.

Alter Servers

Alter Servers assist the celebrant at Eucharistic services, funerals, and other liturgical events.

Banners and Decorations

This committee properly decorates the church for the appropriate season or feast, by using banners, plants, flowers, symbolic arrangements, etc.

Eucharistic Ministers

Assists the priests and deacons in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to their community sisters and brothers. Ministers select weekend mass times and are scheduled throughout the year.

Family Bible Study

This group provides teaching and training of God's word through reading and reflecting on scripture, with youth, parents, grandparents, and friends of St. Rita's Parish. This group meets on Sunday from 9:45 to 10:45 am, to prepare us for the mass and our daily lives.

Greeters

These ministers gather at the church doors about fifteen minutes before mass and welcome people coming to the service.

Lectors

Through this ministry, the proclamation of the "Good News" is continued in our community. By proclaiming the Lord present in His Word, he/she gives meaning to the readings so parishioners will hear and understand the message, which applies to daily life.

May Procession

This group honors Our Blessed Mother in May. All youth and guests are invited to join in procession. The different duties of this group are greeters, distributor of programs and free rosaries. Blue Army will bring the Statue of Our Mother.

Minister to the Sick

These ministers of the Eucharist take the Blessed Sacrament to those unable to attend Mass with the community. This allows the sick in nursing homes and homebound to become one with the community of believers.

Musician or Choir

Members of the St. Rita Music Ministry provide the leadership for musical prayer in our liturgies. They lead the congregation in song, inviting the full participation of all.

Nursing Home Ministry

This group meets at the Regency Heath Care Center on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. Their primary duty will be to help get the residents to and from the 10:00 am Mass celebrated at the center.

Prayer Tree

Members of this group are contacted by phone and asked to pray for various causes. Anyone is welcome to participate in this ministry. No prayer request is ever denied.

Ushers

This group of men and women are responsible for greeting and seating parishioners and guests, taking up collections, passing out bulletins and other related materials, straightening up after each Mass by returning song books and missalettes to holders and placing kneelers in an upright position.
