Incarnation PTO Minutes

                                                                                                       October 26th, 2016                                       

 

Present:  Dr. Cheryl Reichel, Kelly Uhl, Terri Conroy, Ellen Miller, Rebecca Lightner, Amber Rodriguez, Leah Coghlan, Carla Rush and Heather Keighley

 

The Meeting was called to order and led in prayer by Ellen Miller.          

 

The minutes were approved from the September meeting.

 

Upcoming Dates:

Friday, December 2nd & Saturday, December 3rd – Christmas Festival

Tuesday, January 17th & Wednesday, January 18th – Lion King Performance

Friday, January 20th – Jessica Saunders from Dayton Children’s

Friday, March 10, 2017 – The Fry

Saturday, March 11, 2017 – The Griddle

 

The Crusader Club will fund much needed classroom upgrades this year, which include things like desks, white boards and a new Infocus smart tv.  The Club has brought in $31,400 to date.  Another flyer will go out before the end of this year.  Mrs. Craft will be testing the tv smart board called InFocus, if these are well received they could be added to some of the classrooms this year as well.

 

The Outdoor Classroom construction is completed and is being used!  The Stations of the Cross and bench plaques are ordered and the lasered pavers have been installed.

 

The Fry is on Friday, March 10th, the committee is working on adding another tent for the silent auction which will use an app that people can download to bid on auction items.  The silent auction will be chaired by the Arcuri’s, Ward’s, Durbin’s and Pothast’s.

 

The PTO is still working with Gametime on a proposal for the playground updates.

 

Ellen is trying to get the PTO signed up for Amazon Smile but has learned that the school must be approved by Guidestar first.  Terry is working on this for the PTO.

 

Orchestra would like a new bass, but PTO has decided to wait til next year.

 

The PTO sponsored Lion King performance will take place on January 17th and 18th.  All students will get to see the performance at Centerville High School.  140 children auditioned for 18 parts, but 50 students in all will be involved.  Erin Anderson’s grandfather has volunteered to help make some props.  If you look up Dormont Elementary Lion King kids, you can learn more about the production.

 

Andrea Traylor is working on a Spring Food Truck Rally at Incarnation.

 

The next coffee social is January 20th and will include Jessica Saunders from Dayton Children’s talking about safety and the new updates at the Springboro location.

 

Brenda Palmer and Carolyn Shockey have been working together on the Box Tops.

 

Carla Rush and Sarah Horner will be working together come up with a Fact sheet about the PTO and what they do for the school.

 

Dr. Reichel would like to make a cd of the students singing at mass.
