Mrs. Kathleen Willenbrink

Mrs. Willenbrink received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Spalding University in 1979 then continued her education to receive her Elementary Master’s Degree in 1981. Mrs. Willenbrink started her teaching career at Saint Leonard in 1980 (as Miss Johnson) for 4 years; taught for 10 years at Sacred Heart in Jeffersonville, IN; taught for 5 years at Holy Spirit in Saint Matthews; then finally, returned home (Saint Leonard) in 2000 and has been here every since.

Mrs. Willenbrink has received honors for being a Master Catechist; was recipient of the Catholic Education Fund Teacher Award and has been the recipient of an Aegon Teacher Grant. She has been teaching for over 30 years in the Archdiocese of Louisville schools. Mrs. Willenbrink's newest adventure is in the Resource Room helping children and their families who have learning differences. Saint Leonard School strives to meet the needs of every child and to enrich their lives in all possible ways!

Mrs. Willenbrink spends countless hours volunteering at Saint Leonard and abroad. She is a member of the Saint Leonard PTO, Eucharistic Minister, Marriage Prep Team and the Academy of Catholic Educators. She enjoys coaching the Quick Recall Teams and Governor's Cup Competition teams!

Mrs. Willenbrink enjoys running, biking and swimming - her quiet time includes baking and reading. She has participated in marathons, mini-marathons (has actually participated in over 30 of the KY Derby Mini’s) and triathlons! Her most favorite time is just being together with her family. She and Chuck have been married for over 30 years and have four children, Zachary, Caitlin, Elizabeth and Rebecca (all graduates of Saint Leonard School).
